Sterling Biographies: Chief Joseph: The Voice for Peace - Lorraine Jean Hopping

Chief Joseph was an amazing man. He wanted peace for the Nez Perce and everyone else too. He believed that all people could live together in peace, even after all him and his tribe had went through. And I share his belief that all people could live in peace. I believe one day it will happen.

That being said, I've waited to read this book since it was released a few years ago. I recently found that my library had it and so I borrowed it. Chief Joseph's story is one everyone should know and it is great there is a book like this for children and even adults to read. However, I wasn't sure what to rate this, a 2 or 3 star. Joseph's story is an amazing one and I think it is great this author decided to write a book about this great man. But it is not a very long book and usually I would have read a book like this in a day. I don't know why, but I found that I would lose interest. Perhaps it was the author's writing style?

It is not a bad book, but I suppose the writing style kept me from completely enjoying it. However, I don't regret reading it.
