Darren failed the trials and that means only one thing - Death. Darren wasn't ready to die and Kurda talked him into escaping. After previously witnessing the betrayal by Kurda and Darren does escape, but barely. Somehow, he makes it out alive, but barely hanging on. The wolves come to Darren's rescue, taking him in and accepting him as one of their own. He gains his strength back and realizes he has to go back to Vampire Mountain, he has to tell the Vampire Princes of what Kurda done, before he becomes a Prince himself.I think the first two chapters were a little slow, but as it always is with this series, I quickly got right into the story. I think there is a lot of heavy stuff in this book, Darren realizing some different things and not fully agreeing with how the Vampires do things. I think Darren's character develops a lot more in this book. I think this book was great. I'm looking forward to reading book Seven.
