Katie is 11 and Old Order Amish. She lives a plain and simple life and is usually happy. But she can't help to love red, to wish she could wear it. But it was a worldly thing to want and do so. Katie feels horrible for wanting a worldly thing and things get even worse when she find her twin brother Jake with a radio!This was a nice book about an Amish girl and her struggle with not being worldly. In other words, her struggle with not wanting the things an English person has. In the back is an area explaining different words used throughout the book.
