Mexican WhiteBoy - Matt de la Pena
This book is about Danny who is 16 and is half white and half Mexican. His mother is dating a new guy, who she thinks is the one and for the summer, Danny decides to visit his dad's family. This was a book I had wanted to read for awhile and I finally got it from the library. This book was hard for me to get into. I didn't feel like I connected to the characters. It's not that I don't think they weren't relatable, because I think they were. But I couldn't get into their heads, step into their shoes and experience what they were experiencing. I thought the book did get better towards the end and I liked the ending. It's not a bad book, but I don't think it was for me.
