This is a non-fiction picture book about Bridget, a 10 year old Cherokee girl who is a member of the Cherokee Nation. The first page introduces you to Bridget. You learn a little about her and where she lives, as well as a bit about the Cherokee. The book also has some history about the Trail of Tears and The capital of the Cherokee Nation. There is some written about Cherokee traditions, basket weaving and Stomp Dancing. Bridget also talks about her family. This is actually a really good picture book. It's a good way to learn about the Cherokee and learn about Bridget's family and what she does during the summer. Really nice book.Bridget also says that she is proud of her Cherokee heritage and I have to say, I am proud of my Cherokee heritage as well.
