White Gold: The Extraordinary Story of Thomas Pellow and North Africa's One Million European Slaves - Giles Milton

White Gold is the only book my library had about white slavery and I was really looking forward to reading it. I don't know how it is in other countries, but I know here in America there isn't anything taught about white slavery. Apparently there were even white slaves here in America, but I've found when reading history books from here they are called Indentured Servants.

This book definitely has interesting history to tell, history that seems to be mostly overlooked or hidden. However, I found the writing style really kept me from getting fully interested in the book. It was kind of boring and hard to get through.

The history itself was interesting and I'd recommend this book just to learn about history that isn't usually talked about.
